Arlene Joyce “Nippy” Bartley, 64, of Mansfield, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2019, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was born in Crestline, Ohio, on November 1, 1954, to Toy and Barbara June (Meadows) Bartley.
Affectionately known as “Nippy”, she had a great sense of humor and was a selfless woman. She enjoyed cooking and loved having her family together to share her wonderful cooking. She had a genuine sense of making everyone feel comfortable in her presence. Arlene was a devoted mother and taught her children to live by the “Golden Rule”. She was a faithful Catholic and set a wonderful example of charitable and unconditional love.
Nippy was a hard worker and worked in quality control most of her life. She enjoyed gardening and bird watching in her free time.
Arlene is survived by her life partner, Janet Dill; two sons, John “J.T.” (Lisa) Lookabaugh and Heath Lookabaugh; a daughter, Crystal Rhodes; three grandchildren, Skyelar Lookabaugh, Samuel Lookabaugh and Logan Rhodes; Janet’s son, Todd (Sharon) Dill; her mother, Barbara “June” Studer; and numerous nieces. She was preceded in death by her father, Toy Bartley; step father, Jerry Studer; and brother, Bruce Bartley.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, September 13, 2019, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. A Memorial Mass will be recited on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 104 W. First St., Mansfield. She will be laid to rest in Shauck Cemetery at a later date.
