Leona M. Miles, 98, of Mansfield, died Friday, December 7, 2007 at Woodlawn Rehabilitation and Healthcare. Born May 4, 1909 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Harley and Della Mae Heffelfinger Miles. She was a 1927 graduate of Mansfield Senior High and Wilmington College. Miss Miles was a teacher in the Mansfield City School system, retiring after 50 years. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and was a lifelong member of the choir. Miss Miles was a life member of Delta Kappa Gamma and also a member of the American Association of University Women, Mansfield Nature Club and Sappho Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mabel Miles Young, Carrie Miles Yohn, and Lillian Franklin; brother, Albert H. Miles; special niece, Joslyn Franklin; and several other nieces.
A memorial service conducted by Rev. Cloyd Kress will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 14 at First English Lutheran Church. Wappner Funeral Directors assisted with arrangements.
